ViewSonic has launched a multimedia flat-panel monitor designed for use where office space is limited.
With a new 15in colour display and built in stereo speakers, the VPA150 offers images with 200cd/m (squared) brightness and a maximum resolution of 1024 x 768 (XGA), with a refresh rate of 75Hz. The product has a 6.7in profile, including base.
ViewSonic is targeting the financial institutions, medical and research facilities markets with the product.
The ViewPanel is capable of displaying up to 16.7 million colours, achieving CRT-style clarity by the modulation of pixels and light, according to ViewSonic. ViewSonic LCD technology helps adjacent pixels avoid interference problems while special filters in the polarised glass deliver also aid image clarity.
The OnView feature offers an on-screen menu to tune the signal and adjust image quality, size, position and geometry. A built-in display converter allows connection to conventional VGA display adaptors without requiring special hardware.
The display meets Energy Star, Nutek and VESA DPMS standards. The estimated street price of the VPA150 is around #1,499 and is backed by a three-year limited warranty on parts and labour, and one year on the LCD back light.
