LANart has announced what it claims to be the industry's first fault tolerant 10/100 fibre network interface card (NIC), the LANart 10/100 Fibre PCI NIC. The card family promises redundancy at the desktop, full-duplex support to extend to two kilometres and half-duplex to span 400 metres. The products include the LANart 10/100 Fibre PCI NIC, the 100Base-FX PCI NIC, and the 10Base-FL PCI NIC which cost #384, #314, and #209 per unit, respectively. The company has also introduced the 100Base-TX-to-FX Converter for connecting the PCI NIC cards wth incompatible twisted-pair hubs and switches. LANart 01223 232535.
