Hitachi Software has unveiled version 4.0 of the Unix version of its JP1 performance monitoring tools and version 2.0 of the Windows NT release. The NT version of the product now integrates with the Network Node Manager module of Hewlett-Packard's Openview network management product, to enable users to manage such events as network batch queuing, job scheduling and network printing. The offering also supports version 4.0 of NT and Digital Equipment's Alpha hardware for the first time, and can now monitor Microsoft's Exchange Server, IBM's Lotus Notes and SMTP and POP3-compliant clients. JP1 costs between #1,500 and #2,000 and is due to ship on 1 May.
