Cisco has announced its Service Management System, a suite of management, administrative and billing applications for Internet service providers (ISPs).
The applications available now are the Cisco Info Centre, Cisco Wan Manager,and Cisco Access Manager, with entry prices at $70,000, $15,000 and $30,000, respectively.
Info Centre is a centralised service level monitoring and diagnostic tool for fault and alarm management, while Wan Manager, formerly Strataview Plus, manages Wan multiservices across networks. Access Manager handles ISDN access and separates network data traffic from management traffic.
Herb Madan, vice president and general manager of Cisco?s service management system business unit, said the new applications, ?Enable ISPs to automate their processes improving infrastructure reliability and meet the increasing expectations of their customers."
