
Lucent accuses Newbridge of patent infringement (120)

Newbridge Networks is on the receiving end of a writ from Lucent Technologies alleging patent theft.
Newbridge?s 36170 ATM switch and MainStreet 3600 product line are affected by the suit.
Lucent claims Newbridge infringes four data networking patents it owns. These technologies improve comms network efficiency bycontrolling data traffic congestions, by detecting and correcting transmission errors and by compressing digitized voiceband signals.
Newbridge said it would vigorously assert its "strong, meritorious position".
