A new multimillion-pound research centre dedicated to the development of virtual reality communications and next-generation mobile phones is to be built at Edinburgh University.
According to The Scotsman newspaper the facility, called the Institute for Digital Communications, will be built with a £27m grant from the Science Research Investment Fund.
Research teams at the centre will focus on developing ways that virtual reality can help communication in business and commerce, and look at the way forward for mobile phone technology.
