Netscape has appointed Phil Battison, formerly its director of banking sales in Europe, to replace its UK managing director Steve Voller after less than eight months at the helm.
Voller will remain as adviser until the end of February and was said by a spokesperson to be considering his options. The company said he had achieved the primary goal of building a large channel partner programme for Netscape.
Battison has been at Netscape UK for two years, focusing on sales and marketing of its server and electronic commerce products. Previously he spent 18 years in the banking sector, which culminated in running a corporate development team at Barclays Bank that began moving banking services on to the Internet.
