Online reseller WStore has appointed Ingram Micro as its main UK distributor following the collapse of its former distribution partner, CHS.
The agreement was signed following a review of competing companies, based largely on the distributor's ability to integrate its own e-commerce system with WStore's back office.
Ingram is already a supplier for WStore in Germany and Switzerland following a deal made last year (PC Dealer, 29 September 1999) and the reseller had been looking to expand this deal to other European countries, including the UK, by the end of 1999.
Tony Price, UK managing director of WStore, said: "Our back office systems will only allow for one automated supplier, and with Ingram's standard worldwide information system, it made the company very easy to deal with."
In common with many other resellers, WStore was caught up in the fall-out from CHS's closure, at the time its only UK distribution partner.
Following the collapse, WStore turned to Ingram and Computer 2000 to supply its customers, but had to update its systems manually.
