Data integration firm DataFlux has announced a new master data management (MDM) offering which it claims can help organisations consolidate all master data from different departments.
DataFlux qMDM Solution for Customer Data works with existing DataFlux technology, including the Data Quality Integration platform which has templates and workflows to help organisations implement MDM.
"This product is a natural evolution of DataFlux technology, and we built it to meet the needs of enterprises who are struggling with the commonly accepted 'all or nothing' approach to MDM that is prevalent in the market," said Scott Gidley, DataFlux chief technology officer and founder.
DataFlux has had an MDM solution called DataFlux CDI Solution on the market since 2006, but this was for customer data integration, enabling organisations to create a unified view of their customers.
The new developments make the MDM framework more adaptable to data domains beyond those that are customer focused, such as finances and inventory, according to Daniel Teachey, senior director of marketing at DanaFlux.
"The development of this 'multi-domain' data model required a re-architecting of our existing MDM solution," he said.
"Since it is a major step forward for DataFlux, we decided to rebrand the offering as qMDM. The 'q' denotes the 'quality' technology that is at the core of this [offering]."
Existing DataFlux customers will be able to add qMDM to existing implementations, and reuse the data governance rules and data quality routines they have already set up, according to Teachey.
