IBM and Attachmate are to submit a standard programming interface to the Internet Engineering Task Force standards body, for the development of Web based applications that can integrate data from S/390 mainframes and AS/400s. The two companies hope the standard, the Open Host Interface Objects (OHIO)standard, will be adopted by developers when creating electronic business and Internet commerce applications.
