US cable giant Jones International has teamed up with Bell Cablemedia in the UK to launch a channel that will feature computer and technology news.
Produced by Knowledge TV (KTV), a subsidiary of Jones Education Company, the channel will also feature business, careers and finance news as well as health, lifestyle, global culture and languages. It will launch on Bell Cablemedia?s UK network this autumn under the Jones Computer Network (JCN) banner.
Managing director of Jones Education's European division, Dennis Garrison, said: ?Computers and technology are among the top exports for the US so a cable channel devoted to the latest news about technological developments and how to use these tools more productively is highly popular with viewers.?
More than 100,000 homes in London, York, Leeds, Harrogate and Sunderland will receive the technology segment following a successful trial carriage period this summer.
Jones is also touting the Jones Internet Channel at today?s European Cable Communications Show in London. The channel, which is up and running in the US, delivers high-speed Internet access to computers using cable lines and develops content. The channel is available to communications companies worldwide and provides a gateway for the output of UK Internet content providers.
