IBM is to revive its OS/2Warp Server early next year, under the code name "Aurora". The server is to be an Intel-based, entry-level Ecommerce machine, with support for the euro and full Year 2000 compliance. It will use a journalising file system that reduces the risk of losing data by logging each file system transaction, and to further boost reliability, the machine will make use of logical volume management, allowing administrators to take down parts of the file system without having to shut down the whole system. Both these features are available in IBM's AIX operating system.
