Seagate Technology has invested $14 million in a three per cent stake in Internet service provider WebTV Networks. The storage specialist intends to produce hard drives for the ISP?s set-top boxes but was able to give a timetable for product development.
According to Al Shugart, Seagate?s chief executive, the new products are at least a couple of years away. ?The market is so different from the mobile, desktop and high performance markets,? he said.
