In a bid to carve out its own niche in the push technology market, Backweb Technologies announced agreements this week with a range of vendors to use its channels as a medium for software distribution.
Earlier in the week, McAfee Associates announced that it will distribute its virus scan upgrades via Backweb channels (see related story). Now the company has been joined by Inbox Direct, a shareware and freeware distributor, Diamond Multimedia, which will deliver driver upgrades, and Expert Software and Micrografx, which will use Backweb for corporate software upgrades.
