The police may soon be patrolling the information superhighway if the UK crime-fighting agency the National Criminal Intelligence Society (NCIS) gets its way. The NCIS is not asking for draconian powers to heavily censor the Web but feels there is a need for an Internet crime group within the Home Office's National Crime Squad. A proposal will be presented to the police and the UK government in the next few months.
