A US report said the Dell Corporation will take a $3.5 million share in privately owned Jato, which makes chips for the burgeoning Gigabit Ethernet market.
At the same time, it announced it will build a 570 acre extension to its Austin, Texas plant with servers and workstations likely to be the first products coming from the plant.
It will start building the extension, which is subject to local planning permission, in the middle of next year.
