Sybase has completed its acquisition of mobile software firm AvantGo.
The enterprise infrastructure and integration company said that it will operate AvantGo in conjunction with its mobile middleware subsidiary, iAnywhere Solutions.
AvantGo stockholders approved the Sybase acquisition of all outstanding AvantGo shares for a cash consideration of approximately $1.029 per share.
The majority of AvantGo employees will transfer to iAnywhere Solutions' Dublin, California headquarters.
The combined group will work on software to simplify the creation of database-powered web content.
Sybase also announced that it plans to extend the reach of the popular My AvantGo service.
"We are confident that the union with AvantGo is a strategic fit and will benefit our joint customers, partners and other stakeholders, as the companies share a common vision for enterprise mobility," said Terry Stepien, president of iAnywhere Solutions.
