Anti-virus software company McAfee almost doubled its profit and turnover in its third quarter.
McAfee will become Network Associates when its $1.4 million stock swap takeover of Network General is complete and the company's continued financial health will help it merge the acquisition smoothly, according to sources. It will give the anti-virus software company a network management tools business.
McAfee made $24.5 million profit on turnover of $88.3 million in its Q3 to 30 September, up from $12.9 profit on turnover of $47.3 in its Q3 last year.
The company has also been embroiled in a legal battle with anti-virus rival Symantec over patent infringement.
