Netscape and Information Builders (IBI) have unveiled their jointly developed WebFocus S/390 middleware, which enables users to access and manipulate mainframe data from a Web browser for use in formatted reports.
The product runs on version 2.0 of Netscape's Enterprise Server and is based on IBI's Enterprise Data Access middleware for database access and its MVS-based Report Server for distributed data access. It costs between $12,475 and $112,275.
A second product, EDA S/390 Data Server for Netscape, is aimed at developers wanting to build Intranet applications that can access mainframe data. It costs between $12,475 and $112,275.
