Peoplesoft has set up a new US business unit to look after its outsourcing partners such as EDS, in order to try to grow its business in this space.

Although a similar division will not appear in Europe initially, one is expected to appear at some unspecified time in the future.

The aim of the move is to support the outsourcers, help them understand Peoplesoft's long term product strategy, and gain feedback on ways to make products easier to use and maintain in this market space.

Katy Mackrill, Peoplesoft's European business alliances manager, said: "As Peoplesoft matures as a company, we're looking at other markets that are suitable for us. Step one was the enterprise, step two, the middle market, step three, vertical markets, and step four is the outsourcing space. this is a substantial market, and one that is growing."
