Sweden's Tele2 has launched its Call2Web commercial trial which offers half-price call rates between Sweden and the US for the 1,000 customers taking part. The service is entered using Tele2's special dialing prefix and will be charged at 2 Swedish krone (#0.16) per minute at any time of day, compared with Tele2's standard rate of 4 krone per minute for residential users. One of Internet telephony's earliest adopters was Telecom Finland and later this year Deutsche Telekom announced it would also be testing the technology.
