Web pornstar in trouble over sheriff jibe
Woman jailed for a year on indecency charges
A US woman who named her porn website after a law enforcement official against whom she held a grudge has been jailed for a year on charges of indecency.
Jennifer Dute admitted ridiculing Hamilton County Sheriff Simon Leis by using a website in his name as a gateway to her own adult website. The sheriff's deputies arrested her in 1999, again on charges of indecency.
According to the Cincinnati Post, Dute used the www.simonleis.com website to link to www.jendd.com where she sold home made porn videos. Both sites are now shut down.
Dute agreed to be bound over not to make or distribute indecent material following her earlier arrest.
"I would like to apologise to Mr Leis about the word, the expletive, I used on my website about him," she told Hamilton County Common Pleas Court Judge Patrick Dinkelacker before he sent her to prison for one year.
Dute had referred to the sheriff as: "Simon F***ing Leis who thinks he runs the county."
In addition to the jail sentence, Dute signed over ownership of www.simonleis.com to Hamilton County so that the site can never again be used for pornographic purposes.
Her personal website has also been closed and all of the videotapes, order forms and other parts of her business have been destroyed.
