Image technology company Imatec has failed in its attempts settle a $1 billion patent infringement lawsuit against Apple.
However, according to reports today, Imatec is still confident that it will win the suit. It says it holds a pre-trial court deposition in which Apple acknowledged that it had no policy in place for investigating whether a new product infringed any other company?s patents.
The company filed the suit back in March, alleging that Apple had infringed three of its patents in the techniques used in making, using and selling its Color Sync software.
Apple denied the allegations and filed a countersuit in April.
The next hearing in the case is scheduled for March next year.
