Network Solutions has signed a global marketing deal with one of the Web?s most visited portals Yahoo.
Under the deal NSI will promote its domain name registering service of ?.com?, ?.org? and ?.net? domains on Yahoo?s sites worldwide.
The deal is the latest phase in NSI?s plan to strengthen its position as domain name registrar for when its contract with the US Government is opened up to competition next year.
The announcement comes less than a week after NSI joined forces with Centraal Corporation, the creator of the Realnames system for simplifying Web searches. (see Newswire 11 December)
By also striking a deal with one of the Web?s most visited portals, Network Solutions believes it will be in a strong position to expand its brand, while also providing a platform to promote other services such as its portable email, Dot Com mail.
?We are very aggressively working to promote the name of Network Solutions,? said a spokesperson for NSI. ?With Yahoo we hope to reach every user on the Web, and to meet users at the start of their Web experience.?
