Vodafone is to offer business customers a single mobile and fixed line package through a resale agreement with telco Energis. The mobile operator expects this will be one of several agreements with fixed wire carriers.
Energis services will be marketed by Vodafone Distribution through its three service provider companies - Vodafone Corporate, Vodafone Retail and Vodafone Connect.
Customers will continue to pay line rental to BT but all fixed line calls will be routed through the Energis network. Vodafone will bill users on a single statement for Vodafone and Energis calls and customers will be able to keep their existing telephone numbers.
A Vodafone spokesperson said customers should be able to win discounts from BT for line rental under the scheme.
Mike Grabiner, chief executive at Energis said: ?Vodafone Distribution will be selling our telephony services to its customers and potentially creating significant additional volume for us without our needing to develop a service infrastructure for the wider market.?
