Market research firm IDC has predicted that PC shipments are set to grow by 11% over the next three months, despite the current economic problems in Asia. IDC attributed the growth in Europe to interest in the Internet, low cost PCs and a greater focus on the region by PC heavyweights Compaq, Dell and HP. Apple, which recently introduced the iMac, is expected to show particularly strong growth.
