Derek Hatton, former Militant star and deputy leader of Liverpool city council in the 1980s and now a Talk Radio host, was the guest speaker at the North West Society of Chartered Accountants dinner in Blackpool. At the end of his speech, he invited questions. One guest probed him about the damage done to Liverpool by Hatton and his comrades during his former years. Hatton kept asking for specifics - give some examples, he urged his inquisitor. The questioner was unable to be anything more than vague and rambled rather weakly about Liverpool's 'image'. Obviously a little rattled, Hatton offered the questioner some advice - 'when your IQ reaches 60 - sell'. It was greeted by the biggest laugh of the evening.
