The 20th annual Online Information 96 exhibition and conference will take place from 3 to 5 December at Olympia, London. The event will feature more than 350 exhibitors over four floors.
The Internet is an integral part of the online information industry, so new and established Internet and intranet users must head for a designated area, aptly named NetCity, set aside this year to showcase the latest products and services from the industry's key suppliers. More than 70 suppliers are expected to be represented at this section of the event.
Sponsored by Internet World, NetCity will include suppliers of all types of Internet and intranet services including access providers, service providers, Web designers, and developers and suppliers of Internet hardware and software.
Satellite events, in the form of seminars, will take place on Monday 2 December and Friday 6 December, before and after the main exhibition. Focusing on the Internet and how to get the best out of it, they will cover issues from training and the Internet to creating high-impact Web pages.
More than 95 speakers will present papers at the conference, concentrating on the new challenges facing the information user - both academic and business - in the run-up to the millennium. For the first time at the show, Conservative and Labour front bench spokespeople on information technology will put forward the views of their parties on the information industry.
