GE Information Services and GFK have signed an agreement to jointly operate an electronic commerce platform, specifically designed for the global consumer durables business sector.
Called Encodex International, the venture means manufacturers and retailers of consumer durables will no longer have to manually translate product related information stored on their internal systems into different formats for different trading partners. It will instead offer a single interface for distribution and product information.
