Baehal Software, the joint venture between British Aerospace and India-based Hindustan Aeronautics, plans to open an office in the US this year. Bangalore-based Baehal currently has a base in the UK at Farnborough, Hampshire. The US move is a result of a large contract to develop aviation software for Allied Signal, the Los Angeles-based aerospace company. Now Baehal plans to extend this relationship and make it the basis for further US aerospace business.
In the UK, Baehal is developing an air traffic system for the UK's New En-Route Centre, to be the primary air traffic management hub, and is maintaining the frequent flyer database for a large UK airline.
