Nokia is joining the acquisition trail for Internet technology companies alongside Ericsson and Cisco. Nokia wants to buy up technology to equip future series of mobile phones with advanced data-transfer capabilities, such as exchanging business cards electronically, sending Emails or accessing the Internet. The company also wants to expand its research capabilities for other forms of mobile communications through acquisitions.
