After heavy losses last year, partly resulting from restructuring costs to stave off takeover bids, Object Design has moved back into the black this year. For the year ending 31 December 1996, the object database company saw revenues increase by 17 per cent to $38.3 million. Net profits were $1.7 million this year compared with losses of $10.3 million last year, after restructuring charges of $2.7 million.
