Microsoft has signed off the final code for the latest version of its team collaboration and file-sharing technology, Windows SharePoint Services (WSS).
The software giant claimed that WSS, which provides collaborative workspaces for users sharing projects over corporate intranet or extranet communities, will enable teams of workers to access and share information more easily than with traditional file servers.
WSS, part of Windows Server 2003, is available for immediate download and is included in existing licences for Windows Server 2003 customers.
"Windows SharePoint Services gives customers integrated platform services, making it easy for small businesses as well as enterprises to immediately deliver improved collaboration capabilities and IT benefits using their existing investments," said Cassandra Nuttall, Microsoft sharepoint product and technologies marketing manager.
