Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation will enter Japan, the last major market not covered by its global satellite television network, through a joint venture with Japan's Softbank. Japan Sky Broadcasting (JSkyB) will offer 150 channels. It will be 80 per cent funded by Softbank but Softbank president Masayoshi Son said the companies would be "equal partners". JSkyB will offer a full commercial service from September.
