Cable & Wireless's Panama operation has launched the country's first competitive cellular service, Cable & Wireless Movil. The launch takes place eight months after the company's successful bid for a 49 per cent shareholding in Intel, the state-owned telecomms provider. The service will initially cover the cities of Panama and Colon and will be nationwide by the end of the year.
