HP's chairman and chief executive has warned that job cuts are likely in the next round of restructuring of the company. He said he expected them to be voluntary.
The company warned earlier this week that its fourth quarter results, due to be announced toward the end of November, would include a one-time charge in the region of $150 million to cover the costs of the restructuring.
The news bodes badly for HP, coming after a series of lacklustre quarters and an ongoing battle to cut high costs that have been hurting profits.
