Internet firm. Excite posted a slight improvement in its fiscal first quarter results as its network traffic rose to 77 million page views per day during last month.
For the period ended 31 March, net loss stood at $7.4 million, or $0.14 a share, compared to a loss of $7.5 million, or $0.18 a share a year ago.
Revenue leapt 123 per cent to $54.1 million to which the company attributed to the increased activity on its network. The number of registered users grew by 40 per cent during the quarter to 28 million.
Excite said it would have earned a net profit of $2.5 million, or $0.16 a share if acquisition related charges had been discounted.
