ATM and frame relay specialist Newbridge Networks continued a spate of acquisitions this week with the purchase of Danish networking distributor Danring A/S from Tele Danmark.
The announcement, coming hot on the heals of the UB Networks acquisition in December, is intended to bolster the company?s presence in Scandinavia. Danring has been a Newbridge distributor since 1987 covering Denmark, Greenland, Iceland and the Faroe Islands.
?The acquisition of Danring is intended to strengthen the presence of Newbridge Networks in Denmark in particular and the Scandinavian market in general as deregulation, liberalisation and greater competition in the region open up new opportunities,? said Peter Charbonneau, Newbridge's president and chief operating officer.
No financial details of the deal have been released.
