Bay Networks is extending its routing switch to departmental computing with Accelar 1050, to be unveiled at Networld + Interop next month.
The device is a modular layer three switch for small network centres and is used as part of an overall wiring closet. The system will also support a range of applications, including advanced routing extensions and IP multicast technology.
Also planned is the launch of a Gigabit Wan router switch to concentrate multiple district offices.
