IT services provider Concorde Informatics has announced a managed firewall service aimed at delivering better security for small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs).
Available immediately, the Sentry Managed Firewall service lets customers outsource to Concorde the management of a SonicWall firewall appliance installed on their premises to protect their internet connection, with charges starting at £45 per month.
The service provides smaller businesses with a fully managed round-the-clock security solution at a reduced cost, according to the firm, managed remotely using SonicWall's Global Management System.
"Our experienced security experts can effectively configure, operate and manage the firewall according to secure processes and routines, allowing the customer to focus on core business operations, safe in the knowledge that the firewalls are providing maximum protection," said managed services director Neil Roberts.
The service includes content filtering, virus and spyware blocking, plus VPN management to connect remote workers and branch offices.
Customers get unlimited technical support, system maintenance, configuration backup and repair or replacement of defective equipment.
The £45 per month fee applies to the entry-level Sentry 100 configuration, which can be delivered pre-configured to customers for £175.
Sentry 210 configurations and above require on-site installation starting at £550, and cost up to £285 per month for the top-level Sentry 3500 configuration.
