Chip company AMD has confirmed it has made 250 of its staff redundant in the US. Richard Baker, European marketing manager at the company, said no cuts were made in the European or other regions.
?The cuts are down to current adverse financial circumstances,? he said. The redundancies affect a range of jobs from clerical through to executive positions but Baker said he was unable to say which particular executives had lost their jobs. Staff at Austin, Texas and Sunnyvale, California are affected. The news caused AMD?s share price to rise late on Friday.
