UK corporate IT users are still tightening their purse strings because the 'feel good' factor has not returned, according to a report by market research firm, Romtec. The study, entitled 'User base - UK corporates database', found that the average hardware budget of Times 1000 companies, government bodies and financial institutions had dropped from #210,000 per site two years ago to #186,000 now. Only 29 per cent of the sample had IT budgets of more than #500,00 compared with 39 per cent two years ago.
