Lucent is to extend its global grasp to Asia-Pacific with the acquisition of JNA, an Australian telco equipment developer. For around Aus$114 million (#42.4 million), the deal will double Lucent's presence in the Australian market. The market for telco equipment in the region is worth Aus$15 billion (#5.58 billion). JNA employs 240 employees and earned revenues of Aus$65 million (#24.2 million) last year.
