Peoplesoft has moved to fill a gap in its product portfolio with an alliance with IBM to offer an integrated human resources and payroll package.
Under the terms of the deal, announced today, Peoplesoft will integrate its Human Resources Management System with IBM?s HR Access International Payroll product. IBM will also provide technical support, with more than 1,000 HR Access service consultants available worldwide.
Mark Lane, international marketing director for Peoplesoft, said the deal was important because Peoplesoft does not currently have a payroll solution available for the European market.
?In Europe, organisations tend to choose a human resources solution on the back of a payroll package,? he said.
The product will be available from the beginning of the third quarter next year in France and the UK, and will be rolled out to other regions after that.
Analysts this week said Peoplesoft was looking for an acquisition, possibly stalking software suppliers Manugustics or QAD. (see story today)
