Internet service provider Pipex has unveiled Rentsoft, a software download service forming part of the Pipex Business Portal, which gives small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) access to a range of applications on a monthly subscription basis.
The site supports online and virtualised applications, as well as downloadable locally installed Windows software aimed specifically at the SME market.
Rentsoft allows customers to download and use the full version of selected software applications, ranging from productivity, accounting and payroll to HR and business planning, and offers special deals for Pipex Business customers.
As well as avoiding the large capital outlay required for many traditional software applications, the service offers a minimum 30-day free trial of any of the products.
Pipex said that the Rentsoft service gives SMEs simple and direct access to targeted business software, allowing them to switch or upgrade products at any time with no hidden costs as integrated support packages on selected products.
"SMEs are responsible for driving innovation, and have to be as competitive as ever in the current economic climate," said Lance Spencer, product and marketing director at Pipex Business.
"These Pipex software services, in partnership with Rentsoft, will help SMEs to be more productive by providing cost-effective tools to help them meet their wider business goals."
