Three non-profit consumer organisations in the US have published a report claiming that Microsoft has effectively overcharged its customers by $10 billion (#6 billion) worldwide over the past three years as a result of its monopoly in the operating system market. The report, based on internal Microsoft documents, charges the company with raising the price of Windows by 150% since 1990, and states that Windows now costs between #21 and #27 too much per system.
