Informix has added two further distributors to its line-up, after it appointed PSL and LinuxIT Software.
The appointments come after Informix ripped up its sole distribution agreement with Computer 2000 - which had stood for three years - when it appointed Open Computing in October.
Each distributor will help Informix target specific technical sections of the reseller community. Informix is looking to move into the more specialised markets of Hewlett Packard, SCO and Linux by partnering with PSL, Open Computing and LinuxIT respectively.
Under the model, resellers will be free to purchase Informix products andservices from any of the four distributors, but encouraged by favourable termsand improved support to work closely with the distributor that addresses theirprimary technical environment. The approach is intended to provide VARs with a more closely aligned distribution model to support their existing alliances.
