Amid the rumours that Microsoft will make a bid to buy Digital Equipment, one of Digital's vice presidents, Ed Muth, has jumped ship to the Seattle company. Muth was in charge of the PC business unit's server operations and was credited with building up Alpha's native applications catalogue. His role at Microsoft, which he joins later this month, is undisclosed as yet.
