Hitachi has signed an agreement with Microsoft to support Windows NT. The company will assist Microsoft with the scalability issues involved in NT 5.0 Enterprise Edition. Hitachi has plans for a line of NT enterprise servers using Intel's Pentium II Xeon and 64-bit Merced chips. Hitachi was unable to confirm if the agreement will extend to the UK.
