Security solutions provider e92plus is to distribute wireless security products from ReefEdge, which it says will help resellers break into a lucrative early-adopter market.
Mukesh Gupta, managing director at e92plus, explained that there is a demand for wireless in all organisations, but that it creates a security risk.
"Anyone can buy a wireless access point for £100, and that opens the network to hackers," he said.
"The thing that is probably going to stop wireless deployment is security, so we looked for a product that will secure the networks."
The deal will bring ReefEdge products to the UK for the first time, and Gupta said that e92plus will provide marketing, pre- and post-sales support and training for resellers.
The distributor is looking for between 20 and 30 resellers for the products, which sell from around £8,000.
"The channel has an excellent opportunity for margin. Its an early adopter market at the moment so the margin is good," said Gupta.
He suggested that resellers can add services such as training and consultancy on top of the product sales.
The distributor is willing to help resellers with a limited knowledge of this part of the market. "[We can help] resellers that want to get into the area but don't have the resources," he said.
The ReefEdge products consist of three packet-filtering edge appliances to fit different network sizes, which are centrally configured and managed by a ReefEdge Connect Server.
The edge controllers enforce access control rules, and offer bandwidth management and encryption.
